Process Flow for the Overall Assembly of Tubular Trusses
I.Overall Installation
This involves sliding or hoisting the tubular truss, assembled on the ground, into its designated position in the air.
Integrated Lifting Method
Method:Install lifting devices on the structural columns to directly hoist the tubular truss.Alternatively, use a slip-form construction technique where the pipe girders are lifted while column construction proceeds simultaneously.
Application:Suitable for peripherally supported tubular trusses with multiple support points and construction under confined site conditions.
Overall Jacking Method
Method:Assemble the tubular truss into a complete unit at its design position, then jack it up to the design height using jacks and a supporting structure.
Application:Suitable for supported tubular trusses with fewer pivot points.
II.Integral Hoisting Method
Method:After assembling the tubular truss as a complete unit on the ground(often offset from its final design position),use single(or multiple)lift masts or a single(or multiple)crane(s)to hoist it into position.
Application:For different types of tubular trusses, the location and number of lifting points should be as close as possible to the truss's support conditions to mirror its in-service loading.
III.Cantilevered Assembly
Process:First, assemble the members and nodes of the tubular truss into small units or segments, then install these at the design position at a high elevation.
Usage:Applicable for various bolted pipe connections.
